Sergio è nato nel 1983 a Roma dove dopo essersi diplomato al liceo artistico Ripetta nel 2004, ha frequentato il corso di Storia dell’Arte all’Università la Sapienza preferendo affiancare sin dal principio uno studio teorico alla personale ricerca artistica.
Dal 2006 lavora come fotogiornalista, esperienza che matura l’affinità con il mezzo fotografico che tutt’ora copre un ruolo fondamentale nei suoi lavori.
Nel 2011 ad Halle in Germania, frequenta come studente ospite l’accademia di belle arti Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule, dove realizza il primo lavoro della serie STARE successivamente esposto nel 2012 a Roma presso la galleria 22cc, curata da Cecilia Casorati.
Si trasferisce a Torino nel 2014, dove dopo tre anni apre MUTA, uno spazio dedicato all’arte visiva e gioiello contemporaneo anche sede del suo studio.
La sua ricerca artistica si articola attraverso l’uso di diversi linguaggi visivi che spaziano dal mezzo fotografico, alla scultura, istallazione e video, volgendo in particolare l'attenzione alla condizione di stasi e isolamento celata dietro l’apparente libertà di scelta offerta da una cultura capitalista.

Sergio was born in 1983 in Rome where, after graduating from the high school Ripetta in 2004, he attended the course of History of Art at La Sapienza University, preferring to combine a theoretical study with his personal artistic research.
Since 2006 he has been working as a photojournalist, an experience that matures the affinity with the photographic medium that still plays a fundamental role in his work.
In 2011 in Halle, Germany, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule as a guest student, where he produced his first work of the series STARE, later exhibited in 2012 in Rome at the 22cc gallery, curated by Cecilia Casorati.
He moved to Turin in 2014, where after three years he opened MUTA, a space dedicated to visual art and contemporary jewelry, where is also based his studio.
His artistic research is articulated through the use of different visual languages ranging from photography, sculpture, installation and video, focusing in particular on the condition of stasis and isolation hidden behind the apparent freedom of choice offered by a capitalist culture.
